A Year ago tonight, I came back
It's 9:45pm on Saturday August 29th, 2026 as I write this blog. One year ago, it was Friday August 29th, 2025. This time last year my sister had just sent a text 10 minutes earlier telling my closest friends and family that I was out of surgery and would be coming up to my room shortly. I was wheeled into an OR at 4:15pm that night for an emergency mastectomy. The hospital knew I was coming three days earlier and my surgeon was on call that weekend as the emergency surgeon.
